ICONIC LANDMARK
Branding, Merchandising, Identity Design
The European Tourism Association ran an international design competition in the hope of inspiring many of Europe's most popular landmarks to join a new European Tourism Collective. The ETA asked designers to create a full brand identity - including accompanying merchandise - for a European landmark of their choice. The aim was to inspire tourists from across the globe to not only visit, but to take home a souvenir, as a reminder of their visit.
I created a playful, colorful, and fun brand identity for The Louvre Museum in Paris. I took inspiration from the architectural features of the Louvre Pyramid which led to the design of the main logo seen throughout the project. The muted colors were inspired by the paint pigments used during the Renaissance period. The chunky and assertive, precise lines of the serif typography make it modern while also combining the charm of classic design with the clean-cut appeal of modernism. The illustrations were created to be incorporated on a variety of stationary and collateral to reaffirm the brand.
